Wayne Ryan, also known as Detroit Raver, is the President and Brand Ambassador of Ravers Against World Starvation (RAWS) — a growing nonprofit movement using the power of rave culture to fight food insecurity. From Detroit to the world, RAWS unites ravers, artists, and compassionate individuals to feed the hungry and inspire global change.
I used to live a whole different lifestyle — in and out of jail, navigating a system that didn’t offer much hope. But life has a way of redirecting you when your heart starts waking up.
Ravers Against World Starvation (RAWS) wasn’t something I created — it was passed down to me. A torch. A responsibility. And today, it’s become something much more than just a name. It’s my way of giving back, of growing past who I used to be, and making sure others don’t go hungry while the music keeps playing.
RAWS is about unity, compassion, and real action. We’re collecting food. We’re inspiring change. And we’re using the power of rave culture — community, music, love — to do it.
This mission gives me purpose. I’m still healing from losing my father, and I know he’d be proud of who I’m becoming. Every event, every food donation, every hoodie sold… it’s a step toward something bigger than me.
I wasn’t procrastinating these past few years. I was watching, learning, preparing. And now I’m ready to lead this movement with everything I’ve got.
